World Youth Jazz Festival 2014

Hi.

WYJF was held on the 2nd - 4th May at PICC, Putrajaya. The name of the event explains it all. World Youth Jazz Festival. It was my first time being a part of the event. I was one of the LOs (Liaison Officer) (Google it up)

How/Where do I start?

We stayed at Marriot Putrayajaya throughout the whole event. (Yes, had hotel breakfast for 6 days straight, tee hee). I was honestly so scared because I didn't know what to expect as I was assigned to take care of Matti Klein Trio (They're from Germany). It turned out okay. More than okay.

Wednesday (30th April 2014):

Arrived at Marriot IOI at 1pm. Thought I was late but nope, the others were still waiting at the hotel lobby. Accidentally met Joe (Matti Klein's drummer). I was not prepared to socialize with him so yes, I was really awkward but he was really cool. Then Abang Jart got the keys to our rooms. We (Effie, Illy and I) stayed in room 1015. The room is pretty small compared to other rooms but we did not mind.

Illy's artiste and mine had a show at No Black Tie, Changkat. We had to follow them while the others were free for the day. Of course we complained but you gotta do what you gotta do. Our artistes went to NBT first. Illy, EE (her cousin) and I went to Taiwan House at Ampang to have late lunch (my breakfast). After that we went straight to NBT. We actually got lost but managed to find the place anyway.

When we arrived, Matti Klein and his band members were eating so Introduced myself and they did the same. Let me indirectly introduce them to you. Matti Klein- he's a piano beast and I am not even exaggerating. Jurgen Mayer, the joyful drummer. And lastly, the very handsome bassist player, Nikolas Lukassen (He's only 18 years old!)

They definitely delivered a  wonderful performance. The show ended pretty late- around 1am-ish. After the show, Joe the drummer gave us some local chocolates, very nice of him. I booked a taxi for them to go back to the hotel.

We went back to the hotel and slept right away.

Thursday (1st of May 2014):

Didn't really do much on Thursday. Woke up at 9.30 and had breakfast. Most of the LOs went swimming after breakfast but I forgot to bring clothes that are swimming-friendly so I had to skip that part. Played a lil bit of basketball with Effy and EE and the I went straight to the hotel room.-

Shoot I can't recall? This is bad? I will update more soon. Definitely. Once I get my memory back.
